Camping

1 day of 70 degrees and sun + 2 days of monsoon rain + 1 day of sloppy mud everywhere= a great time camping + 1 dirty RV + 17 loads of laundry!
We went up to Eisenhower State park on Lake Texoma (that's Texas + Oklahoma).  Let's minimize this here and say that camping is not on my list of favorite things to do and as a matter of fact, when Teish and Kara were here last spring break, Steve and the girls camped at a campground and we 'camped' at the Holiday Inn!  I think it has something to do with the all the hours of preparation, smelling like smoke, showering with people you've never met and sleeping in your own filth.  Yep, that's it.
We actually had a great time and spent some real quality time together. :) Our friends the Weiss family, camped beside us in a tent but left (as I would) when the rain was predicted. Billie stayed with us, we love having her with us - she is so fun and gets along great with both girls.
On Monday we went fishing (someone forgot the camera-oops) and the kids all caught at least one fish!  Super exciting for them, I had to look the other way though cause I can't bear to watch the poor thing skirming around with a metal hook in its' mouth.
The funniest part came when it was time to empty the sewage and the duct tape didn't hold the drain tube in the hole really well - no kidding- it was a scene straight out of the movie RV!

Our little pyromaniac eating a marshmallow.
This pic was taken before she singed her hair and eyelashes.

Apple crisp

Our on-site interior decorator, Steve, adding some rope light ambiance to our campsite.

Madison, Rylee, Billie and McKenna.

In case you were wondering, this is Madison's bunk. (she never actually slept there)

Self Reliant we are.  In preparation to take the dogs potty in the monsoon.

Our 10th game of Yahtzee, a family favorite.
Help, we're going over!

Should have outfitted Sadee with the Walmart sack too.

The culprit of our bark dust showers - this beautiful woodpecker.

Isn't she beautiful?

Cute, hon.  Love the twisted glasses for added effect.

Wow.. you guys are so adventurous and brave! Looks like you had a great time. I can't even imagine a camping trip with my family! I'm trying to prepare myself for our 20 hour drive to UT this summer!

You guys are so funny! I love all the pictures. The dog looks especially pathetic! Thank you so much for all you did for the wedding, it was so sweet of you to add those extra special touches for them. It really meant a lot, THANKS!

Ok, so I got in trouble for not posting so here it is!!! I too love all the pictures. And that Madison is certainly beautiful. That is a great picture of her. Here's hoping that the three of us can motivate each other into being healthy!!!

I am getting grey hair waiting for you to post an update. I heard something about you possibly moving and I want to state, for the record, that I categorically reject that idea.

I am FINALLY commenting on such a cute post! I seriously wish that we could have been there with you guys! I think that it is awesome that you give it a try every now and then, even if you know it's not exactly your favorite thing to do. :) Maddie and Rylee are so beautiful- and from their smiles on their faces it looks like they had so much fun! And yes, Steve, I think the twisted glasses effect was a great idea too! :)

Hey Cammie! Thanks for your comment on my blog today! Definitely after hearing yesterdays talks about family have really made me think and be WORRIED! Caleb is going to be 12 in a lickety-split and I wonder if I am giving him what he needs to be strong in this world. I know my cute blankets won't help him. It has to be more!!! Thanks again! I miss you ! And Season! :)
